Oh my god, I’m so glad this work week is over. This project planning stuff they’re training me on is so over my head. And it’s not that I’m incapable of learning it, it’s that I’m not being taught. I’m being told, “Here’s a spreadsheet with hours and a budget, put it in the system” except I don’t know my way around the planning program we use. I don’t know the lingo. I don’t know the difference between a phase and a deliverable. I mean, I kind of do, but not because anyone has TAUGHT me, it’s because I halfway figured it out. And interpreting the spreadsheets I’m given is a monumental task. It’s just a bunch of data and I have to decode it and parse out relevant info that I then out in a different program after I set up a whole project? I was never told I would have to do this stuff. Now I’m being told I need to do it and figure it out right now. It’s a lot.
