Why did I buy my plane ticket for MAGFest early this year? It's nonrefundable and MAGFest is a literal dumpster fire. Despite the fact that I was in the first group to preregistered for the convention - also nonrefundable - not only did the convention hotel sell out but so did literally every other hotel in the area. Because they just randomized the booking system. And then even people who got through to make reservations go screwed. Cards got charged for obscene amounts instead of the deposit. Websites were crashing. People were getting directed to two different sites.
Maybe I'll just go on vacation during that time. I'll go to Washington D.C., I already have the damn plane ticket.
