Happy May! Work was mostly good tonight, and now I have a long weekend! And I get to spend it with a super cool person!
Also, my new perfume came today and I am ecstatic! It's so pretty and the box is even pretty and I'm just in love.
But since I already know what that one smells like...I decided to wear one of the samples they sent me instead! Depending on how much you spend, they'll send you a certain amount of samples for free. I got three samples - and you get to request which samples you'd like - and I tried one out today.
Perfume of the Day: Tea for Two by L'Artisan Parfumer
Notes include tea, spices, honey, tobacco, anise, cinnamon, and ginger.
Serge Lutens' Five O'Clock Au Gingembre has taken up smoking in this scent, and it suits it. This is a smoky chai tea with exotic spices and a definite scent of tobacco, and also mellower and softer than Five O'Clock. However, it does retain the sharp ginger notes. I can imagine someone who loves the scent of pipe tobacco loving this scent. It's warm and cozy, yet has a kick to it. It's absolutely unisex as well. It's more of a fall/winter scent but I feel comfortable wearing it this time of year as well. When it comes down to it, I do prefer Serge Lutens' take on the gingery tea scent, but this one is a close runner up. I'm so excited to have found something I like from this brand, too! I'll definitely use up my sample and I'll enjoy doing so.
