February 27th

Hi friends! I hope you've all had a nice week! I got some good sleep in last night, and then woke up at a weird time and couldn't sleep for awhile, and then fell back asleep. I at least got out of bed a somewhat normal time today. I didn't really have anything to do today though, so it's been pretty chill around here. Tomorrow I'm going down to visit my dad and see the new place he's moving into! That ought to be pretty exciting.

I technically have two perfumes of the day today, both from rollerballs which was a coincidence.

Firstly was Paradise by Nest, which I recently got in a swap. It start off absolutely amazing, like a blood orange had been squeezed onto my wrist. It was super juicy and realistic and really great. The longer I had it on, though, the weirder it started to smell. It was like the orange was going bad. Perhaps from the cedar notes? I don't know. I fell asleep wearing that though, and when I woke up and smelled my wrist I was legitimately repulsed. It was like rotten oranges. Luckily that came off easily and I'll be offering that one up in a swap sometime soon. Obviously my skin chemistry did not agree with that. Woodsy notes and I don't always get along.

Secondly, the one I just put on is one you all probably know. If you don't know it by name, I'm sure you've at least smelled it before. That would be Flowerbomb by Viktor&Rolf. The famous floral patchouli scent that I aways accidentally put on a little too much of. It sure gets cloying if you over-apply. I actually couldn't wear sweet patchouli scents for a good month after overdoing it on Flowerbomb once. Too sickly! But Flowerbomb has a special place in my heart, as it's the scent that my high school piano teacher wore. She was something like 50 or 60 years old and wearing this new, young chic perfume (though I didn't know anything about the perfume at the time, just what it was called) and it suited her so well. I think she was the first person I ever asked "What perfume are you wearing?" It was just so different and I loved it so much. And of course since she was my piano teacher I was sat next to the scent during lessons and I adored it. I still do, and it's quite nostalgic for me. I got the rollerball from my mom for Christmas 2013 and I've barely used any it seems - you can only apply the littlest amount, and of course I have a fair few other perfumes that I wear. Anyway, that's what I'm wearing now! Good memories.

Paradise by Nest - Citrus, fruity, woody.
Notes: Blood orange, cedar, ginger, aquatic accords.

-----

Flowerbomb by Viktor&Rolf - Floral, green, sweet.
Notes: Orchid, patchouli, tea, musk.
