April 19th - Why you should give back to your school

Good morning everyone! I bet you didn't expect to hear from me this early, did you? Well, I have a lot of stuff going on today, so I wanted to be sure I wrote in here nice and early!

First off, I'm helping with the Student Philanthropy event at Gustavus, and I'm really excited! Student Philanthropy is basically about encouraging students to give back to Gustavus, which is very similar to what I do at work, except at work I call alumni and parents. I think the best part about my job is that I'm legitimately interested in what I do, because it affects my everyday life at Gustavus. The money we raise goes to our school's Annual Fund, which is primarily used to give Gustavus students scholarships. All colleges have some way to give back though, so for all of you that aren't Gusties, I encourage you to give your current school or alma mater! (The best part is that it doesn't matter how much you give because it's participation, not dollar amount, that helps companies decide whether to support your school!)

Anyway, that's my spiel about why you should give. Of course, there are a bunch of other reasons too, but I have to keep getting ready for the day! Until tomorrow, auf wiedersehen!
