January 31st - Anfo Stewart
Oh Anfo, I miss you so dearly. But just as you did to me nearly a year ago, I have commandeered one of your old web addresses. AHA! is now hosted at anfostewart.blogspot.com - but it's more of a tribute than a random takeover as yours was. I hope you resurface someday, because you were such a fun part of my year in 2010. All the times I think about why I'm glad I kept my blog going, I think of you and how it bonded me, Jon, and Lexa and I thank you. So Anfo, wherever you are, hello and thanks. :)

January 30th - My Cast for The Hunger Games / Catching Fire / Mockingjay
Here is my very long list of actors and actresses I imagine as the characters in The Hunger Games trilogy. I have included all major characters from all three books - but if there is someone I missed, please let me know and I'll add him or her! I didn't include all of the tributes because a lot of them have very small roles or aren't described physically. Feel free to leave comments, questions, or suggestions in the comments!
Katniss Everdeen:
Lyndsy Fonseca
I don't even know who I want for Katniss at this point, just who I don't want. But Lyndsy is a good actress and I trust she'll do the role justice.
Peeta Mellark:
Adam Roque
He looks just like the perfect Peeta to me. He seems kind and compassionate, a bit boyish and innocent, and just like the baker he is.
Gale Hawthorne:
Drew Roy
I found Gale to be one of the hardest to cast because there are so few olive-skinned male actors who are both young enough and look the part. Like with Elizabeth (Katniss) I think with some makeup he could really look like a rugged hunter.
Haymitch Abernathy:
Robert Downey Jr.
Another hard casting decision, but I think RDJ has just the right amount of spunk to pull off Haymitch. He's also a fantastic actor.
Primrose Everdeen:
Madison Davenport
The people who are casting ridiculously young girls for Prim bother me, since Prim is supposed to mature so quickly throughout the series. I see Madison as youthful looking, but also able to handle Prim as a more mature character in the later films.
Caesar Flickerman:
Gary Oldman
I can't think of a better Caesar, personally. Gary is so versatile and talks so well and naturally that he'd make a great Caesar.
Cinna:
Hugh Dancy
It seems like nearly everyone wants Hugh Dancy as Cinna, and I do too. He looks both young and mature, and very intelligent. I think he'd do quite well.
Effie Trinket:
Kristen Chenoweth
I can't really imagine anyone else as bubbly, ridiculous Effie. Kristen has just the voice to play her too, and I know she would be just fantastic.
Rue:
Willow Smith
As far as I'm concerned, quite a few young actresses could pull off Rue. Willow just looks the most like I pictured Rue in the book, with a very innocent face.
Madge Undersee:
Annasophia Robb
Again, someone that everyone wants in this role. She looks just like I imagine Madge would, so I'd love to see her get this part.
Mayor Undersee:
Hugh Jackman
The mayor may not be a big role, but Hugh looks like such a father and a well-informed politician that it would be hard to choose someone else for this role.
President Snow:
Patrick Stewart
Disregarding the amazing acting talent Patrick Stewart possesses in anything he does, I think he would be great as the conniving, snake-like Snow. And really, there are so few people who could really capture Snow's essence - I think Patrick would do it best.
Clove:
Phoebe Tonkin
I imagine Clove as a pretty but tough girl with wild long hair and a fierce face.
Thresh:
Kofi Sirboe
Other than being big and scary, not much is known about Thresh. He also doesn't speak much, so in all honesty a lot of young actors could play him. Kofi looks the part though, so I chose him.
Glimmer:
Cindy Busby
Cindy looks exactly how I imagine Glimmer - wickedly pretty with intense, penetrating eyes that say she isn't afraid to kill.
Cato:
Stanislav Ianevski
I think of Cato as a huge force to be reckoned with - broad shoulders, imposing face, all that jazz. I think with a little scruff and makeup Stanislav could pull him off quite well.
Foxface:
Emma Stone
Doesn't she look just like a fox? That's what I was thinking. Cunning, beautiful, and not to mention Emma's a great actress.
Greasy Sae:
Kathryn Hunter
While I disliked Kathryn as Mrs. Figg because she seemed to rough and sketchy, I think that's exactly what Greasy Sae is.
Avox Girl/Lavinia:
Annaliese Van Der Pol
Annaliese looks just how I imagine Lavinia and while the role isn't a speaking one, of course, I think Annaliese is talented enough to do very well with it.
Mrs. Everdeen:
Reese Witherspoon
Made to look a bit more ragged, Reese's mother-like appearance would be great as Mrs. Everdeen.
Hazelle Hawthorne:
Catherine Zeta-Jones
I don't know why no one ever bothers to cast Hazelle, but I really like Catherine as the maternal figure. Give her some grey contacts and she's good to go.
Mr. Mellark:
Michael Vartan
Not a huge role of course, but doesn't he just look like a really adept baker with a kind soul?
Mrs. Mellark:
Brooke Elliott
And of course, Brooke looks like the type who could play the angry mother. Vicious, a bit plump and perfect eyes for someone who has been through hardship.
Portia:
Linda Cardellini
Linda looks just like a stylist in my opinion so I'd love to see her as Peeta's.
Flavius:
Jim Carrey
Jim Carrey can pull off such outrageous roles and his huge smile looks like it was perfectly made in the Capitol.
Octavia:
America Ferrara
Young, curvy, and vivacious - America fits Octavia extremely well. She's a great actress, too!
Venia:
Wendie Malick
Until reading the third book wherein Venia is described as having grey roots, I thought she was much younger. But since she's apparently a little older, I sought out thin, angled actress who also happened to be older. Wendie seems like just that!
Plutarch Heavensbee:
James Gandolfini
Plutarch is rotund, commanding, and very passionate - something I think James Gandolfini embodies excellently.
Johanna Mason:
Mila Kunis
One of my favorite roles I cast was Johanna. It took me ages to pin down just what I felt her to be like, and after that finding an actress to suit the part was hard. But I remembered Mila Kunis and thought she was just what I was looking for. Tough, sensuous, determined. She's a fabulous actress and I would be so pleased if she was Johanna.
Finnick Odair:
Luke Mitchell
One of my other favorites is Luke Mitchell as Finnick. I honestly don't know much about his acting, but going on appearance alone he is the embodiment of Finnick. If he can act as well as he can look like Finnick, he'd better get the part.
Cashmere:
Kate Hudson
Kate Hudson is a bit older but still gorgeous, just like Cashmere. She also looks like a fighter, and that's just what Cashmere was.
Enobaria:
Thandie Newton
I stumbled across Thandie by mistake and recalling her role in The Pursuit of Happyness I realized she would be amazing as Enobaria. I'd love to see her tear out someone's throat and have golden caps on her fanged teeth.
Wiress:
Joy Bryant
Assuming she can act a little crazy, Joy looks just like Wiress to me. Smart, warm, and just the right age.
Beetee:
Taye Diggs
Doesn't Taye look just like a super intelligent engineer? I think with some glasses and wire in hand, he's make a great Beetee.
Chaff:
Djimon Hounsou
Djimon looks like the perfect blend between rough and wise, and also like he could be Haymitch's drinking buddy.
Cecelia:
Emma Caulfield
Emma looks just like a mother, and that's exactly how Cecelia appears.
Mags:
Betty White
An amazing, powerful actress playing such a moving role? I can't think of anyone better to play Mags.
Annie Cresta:
Emmy Rossum
Emmy looks just bewildered enough with her big, soulful eyes that she could pull off crazy and distraught while still remaining beautiful.
Alma Coin:
Kathy Bates
Again, another role I can't imagine someone else playing. Kathy would be so perfect as Coin!
Fulvia Cardew:
Barbara Hershey
Can't you just see her with diamond flowers in her cheeks, running around trying to make Katniss the perfect Mockingjay? She also looks compassionate enough to pull off the "We Remember" propos.
Boggs:
Charles Mesure
Charles Mesure looks like a worn but smart soldier who doesn't take crap but has a kind heart.
Cressida:
Sarah Michelle Gellar
Wouldn't she look great with vines tattooed on her head? She's sparkly and sweet but a very determined looking woman, and looks just about the age I imagine Cressida to be.
Delly Cartwright:
Demi Lovato
I am well aware that Delly is blonde - that's what bleach and/or a wig is for. Delly is a perpetually optimistic girl with what I imagine to be a radiant smile, and I think Demi would do very well as her.
Tigris:
Fiona Shaw
Wouldn't it be great if someone as fantastic as Fiona Shaw had a brief role as a crazy tiger woman? I can see the whiskers on her now!
That's all I have for now! Don't forget to leave your thoughts in the comments, and may the odds be ever in your favor!

January 29th - Back at home
It's lovely to be at home. I can sleep whenever I want, I don't have to get bundled up to get food, and I have a lot of free time on my hands. Accordingly, I've just about finished The Hunger Games trilogy. I have only the second half of the final book to read before I'm done. Just so you all know, they are fantastic books. I'll tell you more once I've finished the last one!

January 28th - Touring Week
I'm still not sure what Touring Week is, but I do know I'm home and enjoying myself thus far. I also finished the first book in The Hunger Games trilogy, and really liked it. (Yes, I did get it in the mail just yesterday.) I'm not usually into those dystopian future sci-fi books, but this one was really quite good.
I'm still apprehensive about starting classes on the 7th...I like only having one class at a time. It sure is easy.
Time to read the next book in the trilogy, Catching Fire. I mean, I've already started, but now I'm going to read some more. :)

January 27th - Home tomorrow!
Yes friends, tomorrow is the last day of my J-Term class! Hoorah! Then it's home for a week, and Spring classes start on February 7th. I'm excited for a change of pace, though definitely a little freaked out to be having four/five classes again. (One of my classes has a lab - from 8-10 PM! - so that's like a fifth class, right?) I'm excited to sleep in next week, too.
I started reading The Hunger Games! I bought the trilogy on Amazon earlier this week and it arrived today. I'm only about 50 pages into the first one, but I definitely like it so far! More to follow upon my progress - spoiler-free, of course!

January 26th - Webcams Broadcasting Funerals?
Hey guys, I have another delightful debate tomorrow! This time I get to argue that using webcams to broadcast funerals is immoral...or something. I don't really think it's immoral personally, just a little weird. Sort of makes the whole thing a bit impersonal, no? Well, that's my assignment for tonight. Wish me luck!
I bought a banana a few days ago, and at the time it was green. I figured I'd wait a day or two for it to turn yellow and eat it - that's what most people do, right? So now my banana is this sickly green-grey color, and I don't know what to do about it.

January 25th - Peanut Butter
I have a problem with the peanut butter in the caf. Most of the little containers are normal, but sometimes you get these ones with a bunch of greasy liquid on top, and the peanut butter is all nasty. I have no idea why this happens, but I've gotten two packets with icky peanut butter this week and I'm not happy. However, I have discovered that wheat bagels with peanut butter and blackberry jelly are really quite scrumptious.
Actually, the reason I deviated from my normal bagel topping of cream cheese is because I was sick a lot of last week and this weekend, and it was completely inexplicable. It was like the flu, but a mild version and that lasted longer. I was doing some research on my symptoms and I kept getting lactose intolerance as a result. Apparently lactose intolerance can sort of just...show up in one's life, so I'm wondering if that might be it. I haven't had any dairy this week and haven't been feeling sick at all, so I just need to try some milk or something and see what happens. I hope I didn't become lactose intolerant though, since I adore skim milk.

January 24th - Shopping
I'm in the mood to shop, you guys. I don't even know what I want to buy, I just really want to buy stuff. (If anyone has suggestions, let me know.)
I'm so excited to have no school next week. GAC has something called "touring week" next week, and while I honestly don't have any idea what it is, I'm excited to go home and chill. Of course, then I have to get back into the having-four-classes-at-once thing, and that will kind of suck. Oh well.
I AM GOING TO CONQUER YOU, MACROECONOMICS.

January 23rd - Still sick
Being sick is no fun. Class tomorrow is probably going to be pretty awful because I'll be sitting there feeling like crap. I also work every single day this week. I absolutely love my job, but it's just not as fun when I'm sick. A large part of the job is being happy and energetic, and that's harder to do when you feel like crap. But I'm excited nonetheless...work always ends up being super fun.
It is cold here. It is windy and freezing and every time I go outside I feel like my face is going to fall off. Now, I've lived in Minnesota my whole life and the cold is nothing new. But I don't usually have to walk around outside in it for extended periods of time. Even going to get food in the caf is painful, so I've ended up staying in the room and eating a lot more than usual.
In other news, I have a tumblr! I've actually been using it for about two weeks now, but I figured I'd share it with you guys. Here you go!

January 22nd - Sick day
Not feeling so well today, and I'm about to head off to bed. Just figured I should do this now before I forget. I'm so glad it's the weekend.

January 21st - The Weekend
I may only have one class right now, but that doesn't mean I don't love the weekend. Sure, all the loud drunk people keep me up at night and my sleep schedule gets a little messed up, but it's so nice to sleep in and not have to worry about class and responsibilities and all that jazz.
Tomorrow I'm going to another gymnastics meet with Betsy and I'm excited! My dad is also coming down for lunch, so that ought to be nice. Not that I don't love the caf or anything, but some different food will be nice.
For your daily does of cute, I bring you a picture of a yawning baby rat by the lovely DianePhotos of deviantArt.

January 20th - Facebook
I feel a lot more self-conscious about these blogs now that I post them on Facebook, and for some reason, I'm especially finicky about the titles these days. I don't know why, seeing as the titles are usually super unimportant, but it still worries me.
For those of you that know how much I love my iPhone and playing Doodle God, you may know how I'm secretly super proud of myself for having the high score in the mini-game Bejoined. Well friends, I have surpassed my own score, and by a lot. Now, I know not a ton of people play this game nor are they even familiar with it, but I still like to pretend having the highest score out of everyone that does makes me special or something.
And now, a cute pug to brighten your day.

January 19th - Ours
Sitting in Kacy's rooming listening to both Taylor Swift and Kacy sing Ours. They're both pretty good. :) Kacy also got me into Pretty Little Liars, so that's another TV show on my radar. By the way, House was pretty good last night! Candice Bergen is a lovely actress and RSL and Hugh are amazing as usual.
So, Wednesday night...something something something. Work and homework and stuff.

January 18th - Pause
I'm watching House now, but I had to pause it to write in here for two reasons. One, I haven't blogged yet today. But more importantly, vasovagal syncope! They just suggested that in the differential and I have that! I got all excited about that for some reason. Anyway, back to watching. Also, I watched even more Futurama last night...and might do more tonight.
I have a debate tomorrow for class on the use of cellphones while driving, and I'm supposed to be for it. It's hard, dude!
In other news, I love saltine crackers.

January 17th - TV shows
So I've gotten all caught up with Futurama episodes! I can't wait for new episodes to start. Also, Billy West is a brilliant voice actor. The end.
I can't wait to watch the new House episode! I have work when it airs (and no cable) but I can watch it online tonight!
So, movie night with Kacy! Yay!

January 16th - Tomorrow!
Guess what happens tomorrow? New House episode! Ahh I'm so excited! I've missed House dearly. I've also been catching up on Futurama lately - no idea what brought that about, but it sure is enjoyable.
I miss being diurnal. Stupid college and its making making me sleep at funny times.
Additionally, brown sugar cinnamon Poptarts taste amazing when refrigerated.

January 15th - Right blog this time
Look at me, posting on the correct blog! I'm such a champ!
I'm currently listening to some delicious Josh Groban, and I'm about to go eat some delicious dinner as well. Then it's off to the hockey game with Leila for some domination against Augsburg.
Going to hockey games always makes me a little nervous, you know, with my track record...but I dare say a collegiate one ought not to be too terrible. Hopefully. Fingers crossed!

January 14th - Whoops
So, there's this thing about having five blogs on one's homepage that sometimes make one click on the wrong "New Post" button. Yesterday I inadvertently posted my January 13th entry to my 2010 blog. However, I just imported to this blog and all is well. So, never fear! I didn't forget to post yesterday, it was just misplaced.
My room has gotten awfully messy in the past two days. I did a lot of laundry, and haven't really gotten around to putting it all away. Additionally, all of my stuff is just sort of out of order. It's really frustrating, so tomorrow is going to be a cleaning day!
Oh, and because I forgot to mention my lovely friend Pia in my entry yesterday, I shall tell you today that she and I (and Leila!) hung out until about 5:30 AM of this morning. We're really quite silly when we're sleep deprived. Also, she totally hogged the futon and when I woke up she had about 80% of it. Lame!

"What should I blog about?"
"Hangin' out with meeee."
So yeah, I'm hanging out with that one girl Kacy. She's pretty chill.
I still don't really know what to blog about. I'm so uninspired!

January 10th - Productivity?
Is it bad that I stayed up until like 4:30 and all I ended up doing was drawing a kinda sketch picture of Snape? I did all of my homework though, so that's good. Yay, homework!
I tried to be all healthy tonight and have carrots as a snack tonight, but then I was still hungry and had some graham crackers. Now I feel sick, and I only had two. And a little chocolate milk.
I love that no matter how far under my bed I tuck my sheets, without fail, in under one week they will no longer be on my bed. And I really don't toss and turn that much, my mattress is just really slippery and the fitted sheets are abnormally large for twin XL.

January 9th - 365
Today is my 365th consecutive blog post. I've officially blogged every day for a year. Hooray!
In less exciting news, I totally already broke my resolution to not drink soda this year. Whoops. It was completely by accident too. Oh well, maybe I'll just have a resolution to drink soda no more than once a month or something, which is basically what I did last year.
So I went to the gymnastics meet yesterday, and that was awesome. I love gymnastics meets, and since my sister used to be in gymnastics, I actually know what's going on. I also watch gymnastics in the Olympics. Anyway, it was a really fun meet. And Olive Garden afterward was great too.
I'm not sure I'm ready for the weekend to be over just yet. It'll be nice to have structure to my waking up and all that but...waking up early is stupid. I like sleep.

January 7th - The weekend at last
Despite only having one class during J-Term, this week has seemed extremely long. I have a bunch of homework right now, so I'm not sure how I'm going to manage four classes in the spring. Dear future teachers: Please go easy on me.
Playing Second Life everyday is wearing me out, too. I've come across some interesting people, but not enough to justify my playing. Why our teacher wants us to play for an hour everyday is beyond me. 20 minutes would suffice.
I'm currently working on a 1,000-piece puzzle. I haven't done one is ages and it's kind of stressing me out. There's a huge chunk that all the same color and it's really intimidating.

January 6th - Would you look at that.
One year ago today I may have forgotten to blog, but not this year! And as of January 11th I will have officially blogged every day for a year! So much excitement!
I also realized I'm going to hit my 2,000th tweet soon, which also means that I'll have my 2,011th tweet in 2011! I'm kinda happy about that.
So, I might play rugby this spring, or something? Pia is trying to get me to join, and it's just a club sport...I dunno, I may end up trying it out at least.
Margarita got me two puzzles for Christmas and I really want to start working on one of them tonight. I haven't done one in ages, and especially not a 1,000 piece one. But I'm ready! Bring it on!

January 5th - Don't forget!
So, I need to not forget to blog tomorrow! Apparently January 6th is
the day I seem to gorget to do this...let's not have that happen!
the day I seem to gorget to do this...let's not have that happen!
Short entry today, since I've got another whole entry to write on my
Second Life blog...sigh. So much writing!
Late entries still scare me. Blogging after 11:00 makes me so darn
nervous. Eek.

January 4th - Back in it again
Oh, school. Two days in and it's already a pain. Homework is stupid, getting up when I'd rather be sleeping is stupid, not having my own room is stupid...stuff is stupid. And don't get me started on the cold weather.
So for my J-Term class I have to keep a daily blog about this game we're playing called Second Life. If you're bored and need another blog to read, you should check it out. Or check out Second Life. It's remarkably overwhelming.
I also got Jon and Lexa in on it, so that's a win.

January 2nd - I can reuse title names, can't I?
I no longer have to worry about whether or not I already named an entry something because it's a new year! New blog! Woohoo! Then again, I don't think I'll like repeating myself.
J-Term class starts tomorrow! I'm taking Computer Ethics and Society. Feel free to tell me how boring that sounds, I've heard it already. :)
I got new boots, new earmuffs, a new coat and a new hat today! Gotta bundle up for these damn Minnesota winters.

January 1st - Day One
It's a new year and a new blog! How exciting! I still can't believe it's been one year since I started blogging.
Because it is 2011, I have made 11 New Year's resolutions. Some are whimsical and others are serious, but they are all things I hope to do this year.
So, what wonderful things will 2011 bring? We'll have to see!
Thought: I've been rekindling my passion for being a Speech Pathologist recently, but to do so I'd have to transfer schools. The University of Minnesota at Duluth has a program, and it's remarkably cheaper to go there. I love Gustavus, but I also want to pursue that career. Right now I'm thinking of applying there and seeing what happens.
The 2010 blog has been updated! It is now a showcase of my favorite posts from 2010. All of the posts from 2010 are in The Archives, and if you'd like an invitation to read those, send me your email address.
Back to school tomorrow. Not sure if I'm ready for that. Class starts on Monday too, and I'll now be working three days a week to bring in some extra money for myself. School has become rather intimidating to me.
Now let's make 2011 count.
