March 8th

Tomorrow this lady is starting a new adventure! Whee! It means getting up early though, which is ultimately not that bad as it'll be good for my sleep schedule in the long run, but as if daylight savings time didn't mess me up already, now I have to get up with the sun!

There's a perfume rollerball that I'd really like to get my hands on, but I'm trying to wait for a sale or some sort of perk (like 3x points on a fragrance purchase) before I hit up Sephora. I did order some samples from LuckyScent though. The problem with that is of course that if I fall in love with one of them, I'm going to need to save up for ages before I can actually afford the perfume I love. Oh niche perfumes, why must you be so pricey? I even got a second sample of something I already own a sample of because the full bottle is way expensive but it smells so freaking good that I want it in my life! I'm wearing it today actually, and I'd forgotten how amazing the longevity is. I can still smell it on my wrist! And with that...

Perfume of the Day: 03 Lonestar Memories by Tauer
Notes include: Leather, myrrh, vetiver, labdanum, geranium, clary sage, carrot seeds, and tonka bean.

This scent is so evocative of its official description, it's insane. As some of you may know, the first cologne I ever fell in love with was Juicy Couture's Dirty English. Lonestar Memories is basically a much classier, sophisticated version of that. (I still love them both though!)

"The scent of a lonesome rider, wearing old jeans and leather jacket, after a long day on the horse in the dry woods, preparing his coffee on the open, smoky fire."

That's the inspiration for this scent, and it's amazing how well this scent tells that story. It's smoky, woodsy, leathery, dry...and yet comforting, warm, and smooth. Tauer perfumes have an incredible reputation and I'd honestly love to try every single one of them (I have a sample of one coming with the order I made today!), because this perfume is divine. It's definitely more of a masculine scent, despite being marketed as unisex, but I love it. It's comfy and intriguing and fascinating.
