December 31st

Today is fun. Today has a graphic! I've been meaning to do this for ages, and now that my hair is back to the length it was before I shaved it, I figured now was the right time! Below you will see my hair from September 2011 until December 2013. Two years of shaving, cutting, dyeing, growing, and styling. These are just some of the many selfies I took to document my hair growth, so this is my no means exhaustive. I just wanted to show how it grew.

The top two photos were taken on the same day, about an hour apart. The bottom two pictures are the first time I could wear my hair up again, and a picture from this week.

December 30th

Hello everyone! Tomorrow is going to be a very busy day for me, so my year-end blog post is going to be tonight instead of tomorrow. I found out today that Gilly is, in fact, closing tomorrow and not on the 11th, so I'm visiting tomorrow morning. That store is like my home. I've spent so many hours there and I'm going to miss it so much. I also have a NYE party to attend! I'm going to wear a gold dress and look and feel like a goddess. A goddess with a cute butt.

So, let's get serious and talk about 2013 for a minute here. First off, thank you a million times over to every single person who has read even just one entry this year. I keep this blog mainly for myself, since it's not like it has a wide readership, so every time someone decides to read it, it feels really special. We're at over 26,000 page views today, which blows my mind.

2013 was incredible. I did something I have wanted to do for so, so many years, which was traveling to England and Ireland. It was one of the most incredible experiences of my life, and I want to go back to Ireland this summer. (I very well might!)
I met one of the most wonderful people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing, and that's Eoin. We started talking in January of last year and met in August, and I cannot express in words how lucky I feel to know him.
I started school again this fall, which has been pretty good actually. It also means I get to attend SSA meetings, which is like hanging out with a second family.
I got a new job in September and left it just a few days ago. I found out that my job of 1.5 years is closing, which still breaks my heart. I volunteered with baby birds and fell in love with them.

Thank you all for helping to make this a wonderful year. This blog has been such a perfect constant in my life...even when things are crazy, I know I have this. I have blogged daily since January 10th, 2010. That is four years of my life. 1,450 days. 2014 will be year five, and I can't believe that. I never, ever thought I would blog daily for this long, but I'm so happy that I have. I so happy for the friends that I've made and for the memories on which I can always look back.

To Lexa, Jon, Eoin, Anfo, Kady, and everyone else who has shaped this blog, thank you. And to everyone who helped shape 2013 for me, thank you. I'll see you all in 2014.

I'm at my mom's house on my cell phone, so it's a short stray today! Tomorrow may end up being my year end review since I've got plans starting at 5:00 on the 31st. Hope you're all staying warm!

My feet hurt SO BADLY but I am DONE with my job so now I've finally got time to let them recover!

I'm sorry for the short entry, but I am very sleepy and my bed is very comfy.

December 27th

Tomorrow is going to be a long day of work. It will also probably be my last day there, so that's how I'm going to get myself through. I'm going home on Sunday too, which I'm really looking forward to! I get the second half of my Christmas presents!

I think I'm gonna play Solitaire on my phone til I fall asleep. It's one of those nights.

December 26th

Happy birthday to my darling sister Caroline! As far as sisters go, she's pretty damn cool and I feel very lucky that she and I are so close. She is 17 freaking years old today! (They grow up so fast...*sob*)

I'm off to work now, but I'm there past 11:00 so I figured I ought to blog now. I am so responsible! Occasionally!

I really, really need to clean my room and do laundry, speaking of responsibility. That'll be a job for tomorrow, though.

December 25th

Merry Christmas! My dad and sister came up to visit today, which was really lovely. And I'm hopefully seeing my mom on Sunday! I haven't gotten all of my gifts yet since I haven't actually been home, but so far I've gotten Delta miles for my trip this summer (probably to Ireland!), a car charger for my phone, a gift certificate for a mani/pedi, a calendar with lighthouses (!!), and gift cards/money. My wonderful friend also got me a necklace a little while ago, which I love so, so much. It's got London blue topaz in it and it's the prettiest thing ever.

I hope you all had a merry Christmas! It's time for me to start thinking about this year's end-of-the-year blog post. 2014 will be year FOUR of blogging for me! How crazy is that?

December 24th

Merry Christmas Eve! I just got home from work and I'm about to fall asleep, so I figured I'd blog now and not have to worry about it later. I'm seeing my dad and sister tomorrow and my mom this weekend (probably), so I do get to spend a bit of time with my family despite how much I'm working. I'm sad that I'm working on my sister's birthday though! I requested the day off...sigh.

December 23rd

Overall, I had a good day. Work was...work, but aside from that, I'm feeling really happy. It must be Christmas or something. I'm going to eat Oreo ice cream and sleep well. Thank you, universe, for awesome friends.

December 22nd

One day of my Work Week of Hell is complete! Hooray! Today wasn't too bad, just the usual aching feet. Tomorrow is 9-5 though, so boo for waking up early, but yay for getting home at a decent hour! I'm just now getting home from work, since we're open til midnight tonight. Why is that even a thing? Who shops at 11:30 PM on a Sunday? Answer: no one.

December 19th

I stayed up aaalllll night and finished my last project for finals, so now I'm free! Or at least, free from classes. Not free from the nearly 40 hours I have to work next week. But I am rightfully exhausted and as per usual, my feet hurt, so I'm going to sleep.

December 18th

The third floor of the library is supposed to be the silent floor. The second floor is for group studying. So why is there an obnoxious group of guys laughing and talking on the third floor? I don't know, but it is driving me up the wall.

I'm on the second floor now. I was upstairs by those morons, but my laptop wouldn't connect to the internet. So I went to one of the computers on the third floor. Except they're all PCs, and I'm used to typing on a Mac, so I kept making typos and couldn't get into the groove of typing. I went to the second floor computers, which is the only place that this library has Macs. It was obscenely loud. I tweeted for help. I managed to get connected to the internet and now I'm on my laptop in a corner of the second floor, waiting to go back upstairs. (I don't want to go back up too soon because everyone is going to be like "Why is this chick running around the goddamn library?")

Finals week is shit.

December 17th

Hello friends! I am on my way to eat cupcakes and play with baby rats! I might end up with a few of these rats at some point, so why not, right? I want a pet! Or twelve.

December 16th

I have to work 36 hours next week. I don't get Christmas Eve off. I don't get my sister's birthday off. I am going to be miserable and exhausted and I'm kind of in denial. So I'm going to sleep. 

December 15th

My feet hurt so much tonight. At least my shift tomorrow isn't too bad.

Buying that pack of corn dogs the other day was one of the best decisions I've made in recent history.

I'm all ready to start looking at places to travel this summer! I'm thinking of going back to Ireland. :)

I finally saw Catching Fire today, and it was fantastic. I had pretty high hopes regarding book-to-screen accuracy based on what I'd heard, and I was not disappointed. I was actually pretty pleased with the changes they made too, as they genuinely made sense  (*cough* Order of the Phoenix *cough*). I loved the soundtrack, and the casting was good, and oh my goodness all my feels! The character development! The effects! The timpanis! AND MAGS OH MAGS ILY.

December 11th

I think I did pretty well on my final, so that's a relief. And we get our scores for our final papers back on Friday, so I'm anxious to see how I did on that too. (I think I did well!)

I have a pretty low-key day tomorrow. Perhaps I will supplement it with LOKI OH GOD I'M HILARIOUS. But seriously, I might watch The Avengers.

I am stressed about finals. What else is new? OH RIGHT I'M BLOGGING BEFORE GOING OUT TONIGHT. See? Change is possible!

I don't have too much to say though, unfortunately. Everything is kinda blah up in here, so hopefully things will get a little better after finals are over.

I'm so sleepy but I'm having trouble sleeping.

I have to work 11-4 on Wednesday and then go straight to a final.
I really wish I could, you know, spend the morning studying.

Tonight I'm really just feeling lucky to have good friends. Sarah bought me a necklace and I can't even express how grateful I am. I want it to be Tuesday so I can see my friends some more.

This is a terrible entry but my back and feet hurt super badly and I'm tired.

I'm at work until 11:30 (at least) and I forgot to blog before I left, so I'm blogging on my dinner break. Sorry for the short entry. 

If I didn't have to work tomorrow I'd totally go to late night skating, but alas, it is another long day tomorrow. At least I won't be there til nearly midnight.

We're humming Christmas music at Sarah's. I did nothing today and it felt awesome. I need socks. 

December 5th

You guys have no idea how excited I am to sleep in tomorrow. I need sleep. I couldn't fall asleep until like 6:00 AM last night/this morning and I am worn out! Although I'm currently in a nice mist of perfumed body mist at Sarah's, which is lovely.  

December 4th

Sorry for the short entry yesterday. Tuesdays are not ideal nighttime blogging days for me.

I wrote a paper today! I am such a good student. (Haha yeah right.) I'm super tired though, so I'm going to play Solitaire and get some sleep. I have class and work tomorrow, which will be a big ol' bucket of fun. (Class should be okay actually.)

Currently playing: A fantastic song from an old Gilly floor playlist, which contains the lyrics: "I feel like Barry White but I'm looking more like Barry Manilow." (The song is "Don't Ask" by Megadon Betamax.)

The planetarium is awesome. Having to write a paper soon is not. And this is a short entry because I'm with people. 

December 2nd

I have to write a paper tomorrow night. I thought it was due next Wednesday but it's due this Wednesday and I haven't started and I am panicking and freaking out. I'm going to start it tonight but I need to do most of it tomorrow night because I have to send out interview questions to people tomorrow morning and oh my god so much work so little time.

I'm going to the planetarium tomorrow though, so that's cool.

Happy December! I asked Kjell and Sarah what they wants me to blog about. No one is answering me though.

Update: I have been told to blog about about Bear (the dog) and tea (which I am drinking), because my friends are boring people.
