Happy Saturday! I haven't watched Doctor Who yet, actually. I was talking to Eoin instead! I'm not sure when this episode airs again, but I'm sure I'll get around to it. I saw some gifs on Tumblr though...oh, Moffat. I'm sorry, but I miss RTD.

I am very, very excited for Game of Thrones though! And to have a Sunday off from work!

By the way, My Immortal was even better than I remembered.

Long day at work tomorrow! But I have a pretty exciting Saturday ahead of me, and I'm quite thrilled. My Immortal reading, part two!

Today was absolutely lovely! Lexa and I talked about gelato, and Eoin and I started reading My Immortal...and watched The Luck of the Irish. Atrocious stories shared with non-atrocious people are the best.

I have two Skype dates tomorrow though, so I'm happy. Even though I have to take Darcy out at some ungodly hour again tomorrow morning.

And now I have two Skype dates on Wednesday! One with Eoin, and one with Lexa to meet her dog, Biscotti.

Work was slow today. Lots of shipment. Mondays...you know.

Good evening! Sorry for the unusually late post tonight (this is mostly an apology to myself, as no one else cares the time at which I post), but I was hanging out with my lovely friend Sarah. We watched Baby Mama, which I was trepidatious about, but it was actually really good. Kind of predictable, but still funny.

I've got another weird 12:30-7:00 shift tomorrow.

I am very pleased to report that Daisy Eau So Fresh by Marc Jacobs is a wonderful perfume. A week ago, I was trying to find some original Daisy, and I saw Daisy Eau So Fresh - but I didn't realize it wasn't Daisy. Totally my mistake - the bottles look nearly identical, but I should have read more closely. It wasn't til after I'd won the auction that I noticed my mistake. Luckily, I found out the bottle I'd won was actually much larger than a standard bottle of perfume. I also read some online reviews and heard it was similar to Daisy, and quite good. Well, it arrived in the mail today, and I really like it! It smells a lot like the original Daisy! My perfume collection was missing a simple, nice floral smell, so I'm really pleased with this. Plus, it'll last me forever!

I was going to show you the new beach/tote bag I bought at Gilly today...but it's not on the website and I'm already in bed so I don't want to get up and take a picture. Sigh.

I wasn't needed at work today, so I got to sleep in! Except I couldn't sleep, so that was stupid.

Eoin is teaching me Irish. I wart to watch Luck of the Irish so badly now. I think I have it on my computer!

Unless there's another weird delay, we'll be getting new uniform options at work tomorrow! I work early, and for only four hours, so it should be a pretty easy day. Fingers crossed!

I'm about to eat some ice cream. I am also about to go to bed. I keep staying up late (I'm looking at you, Eoin), and it's making me sleepy!

I think I'll watch Adventure Time tonight.

I spent my day working. What a party, right? At least my uniform shirt is green.

I've been pretending to learn Irish all day. Getting in touch with my heritage, you know? Eoin's been helping. ...I still can't pronounce anything, though.

I usually dye my hair with John Frieda hair color, but I wanted to try a new color and my local Target only sells like five different John Frieda colors. Recently I've been using Deep Cherry Brown, which looks like this:

And I wanted to go lighter and more auburn. So I let the John Frieda fade, and I let my roots grow, and I found a color similar to I wanted when I was at Target. It's by Garnier, it's called Intense Auburn, and it looks like this:

I dyed my hair with this today.

It didn't work very well.

My hair is exactly the same color with the exception of my roots, which are a little more red. It basically looks like I got some very vague red highlights.

And that's not all. I've used a lot of hair dye in my life, and I know it doesn't always smell great - but it can, and often smells just fine. This stuff, however, had the most pungent, biting, sharp scent ever. And even though I've since washed it out and conditioned my hair with the conditioner they gave me, I can still smell it.

Speaking of the conditioner, what a shit deal this was. Normally when you buy a box of hair dye, they include a tube of conditioner to be used immediately after dyeing and then once per week for the following weeks, until the tube runs out. Garnier, however, thought it would be a good idea to make the conditioner come in a packet, and for it to be a one-time thing. So, the reason that most companies put the conditioner in a tube is so you can unscrew or pop the cap like you would with shampoo. But this little packet, it turns out, is not something you can open with wet hands. Imagine trying to rip open the side of a Ziploc baggy with wet hands. Way to think that through, Garnier!

The worst part about the conditioner is that it didn't even do what conditioner is supposed to do. My hair is so static-y right now. It's soft, but no softer than it usually is, and this is supposed to be some "special" conditioner with avocado oil that makes your hair soft and luscious. Nope, just static over here.

I would say the one pro about this dye is that is comes off of skin really easily. That worries me, though, because it makes me think that maybe its lasting power is shitty, since hair dye is usually quite difficult to scrub off.

Overall, I'm quite disappointed with this dye. Oh, and to clarify- I've been dyeing my own hair for years and years. I know how it works. This stuff didn't fail to work because I've never done this before or something - I left it in the correct amount of time (longer, actually) and followed all the directions. It's just a shit hair dye.

I have had a lot of good fortune on eBay this week.

I'm burning a candle that's meant to smell like pink lemonade and I keep getting whiffs of christmas tree scent. I'm confused and disoriented.

Well, we had to put Sammy down today. She took a turn for the worse and seemed to be in a lot of pain, and was also having trouble breathing. As sad as I am, though, I think today was the right day. She had been doing fine (comparatively, at least) the past week - purring, sleeping well, etc. But today she just seemed really unhappy and uncomfortable, so when I said goodbye before going to work, I knew it was for the best. She had a really good, long life (16 years) and was an absolute sweetheart.

Today's originally scheduled movie review of Skyfall has been postponed because I just spent two hours on Tumblr talking (and debating, arguing, et al) about the pairing of Bond/Silva and the inherent problems with it. Nonconsensual sexual advances are not a good basis for a relationship, okay? Not to mention Silva wasn't feeling up Bond because Silva was genuinely attracted to Bond...but this is just starting to sound like all my recent Tumblr posts. March 8th

My mom and I saw the Les Mis movie tonight! It was actually a lot better than I expected. Despite some minor irritations about unnecessary lyric changes and added dialogue, it was a pretty solid film. And Anne Hathaway was amazing.

I also watched Wreck-It Ralph last night! It was one of the most cleverly-written movies I've seen in some time, and I adored it. Great characters, great plot, and really fantastic animation as well.

I've been sleeping so poorly recently. I'm stressed, my head and neck hurt, and I'm tired all the time. It's not fun.

I have the urge to buy things. I think the perfume I ordered arrived at my dad's house though, so maybe getting it will stifle the need to shop.

It's absurd how tired I am. My sleep schedule has been completely shit recently. I am very, very lgad to have tomorrow off from work.

Today is Self-Injury Awareness Day. To clear up a few common misconceptions, here are some quick facts about self-injury:

*People who self-harm are NOT necessarily: attention-seeking, suicidal, depressed, goth, or emo
*Self-harm does not have just one cause. Some reasons people self-harm are: They think they deserve it, they feel emotionally numb and want to feel something, they have been bullied or peer-pressured into it, they are trying to reach out, or because they are addicted to it
*Self-harm comes in many forms, and not all are immediately visible. Not every self-harmer cuts his or her wrists.
*Self-harm can occur with ANYONE, regardless of race, gender, or economic status. Just because someone lives a privileged life, it does not mean they are immune to self-harm.

The most important thing you can do regarding self-injury is to educate yourself. While you cannot necessarily prevent all self-injury, you can take steps to helps those you know who self-harm, as well as help diminish the overwhelmingly negative stereotypes and stigmas about those who have or still do self-harm. Remember to keep and open mind and to be there for your friends and family.
