June 9th

I'm about to watch the Game of Thrones season two finale with my mom. I've already seen it, but she hasn't and I'm pretty sure she's gonna flip. It's so good, and there's so much happening and all my feelings. Oh god, the feelings. And of course tonight I'm going to read more as well. I'm so, so glad to have found a new fandom about which I am passionate and for which the screen adaptation doesn't suck. I've got so much to look forward to as well, since I'm not yet done with the books, and of course the TV series is still coming out for the next three years. This isn't like The Hunger Games fandom, really, it's deeper and the fans more serious. It's not been infiltrated by tweens saying which "team" they're on, and the TV show is well-made and accurate - that's not to saying the Hunger Games movie was bad, it was just...nothing spectacular. The Game of Thrones show is literally a spectacle. It is intense and vibrant and deep...though of course, not as thorough as the books, but what can you expect? I do love being passionate about a series though. I love the feeling is brings, the anticipation and the feelings. The literal grief you feel for the death of a character, the tears you shed. The happiness for their happiness. Those feelings are so surreal and yet so tangible, and it's fantastic.
