Happy Leap Day! I got a free cookie at Subway for Leap Day. I didn't even know it was like, a thing that people celebrated. No matter, I'll always take a free cookie.

I need to go to bed early, but I also need to finish an essay. What to do...

February 28th

I've just realized I'm going to miss the first half of tomorrow's SSA meeting because I agreed to be part of a survey panel about sororities. Well, at least I get a CAribou gift card for doing it.

I've been on a Jekyll and Hyde soundtrack binge recently. Also I've been wearing bandanas a lot. Ugh, what if I'm becoming predictable?

February 27th

I should do that write up on The Drowsy Chaperone tonight. It's not due until Thursday, but really, I've got time to kill now...ugh. It's meant to be 4-6 pages long. Not that writing four pages is difficult at all, but it's just a pain in the rear. I love writing, don't get me wrong - I wouldn't blog daily if I didn't at least enjoy it a little. But I like writing about things that interest me, not a mediocre show that barely captivated me.

February 26th

The Amazing Race was good, although not the most exciting episode ever. Well, there's always next week.

I'm watching the Academy Awards right now. I am a bit bitter about the fact that the top grossing movie franchise of all time has won a grand total of zero Oscars, and I'm still of the mindset that The Artist is overrated, but other than that, this year's show is pretty average. The "in memoriam" section is starting as I type this...so that's going to be depressing.

Speaking of sad, I got teary-eyed when the Titanic trailer aired. Yup, that was the best part of the show tonight.

February 25th

Good evening, my kittens. I went to go see The Drowsy Chaperone here on campus tonight. It was an assignment for theatre class, otherwise I probably wouldn't have gone - this school isn't exactly known for its musical theatre. The show was all right, but the theatre it was performed in had terrible acoustics and people's mics kept going wonky, so that detracted from the show. Some of the characters were a bit weak, but Aldolpho and the Chaperone were great.

Right now I'm just anticipating The Amazing Race tomorrow night. I'm also going to clean my room during the Oscars, so that will make cleaning a little nicer, I hope.

February 24th

I'm not really sure where February went...

So I'm listening to my favorite Hank Green song, A Song About Anglerfish. It's weirdly deep for, you know, a song about fish.

I have to do a massive cleaning overhaul in my room this weekend, and I'm completely dreading it. I know I'll feel so much better once it's all clean and organized, but cleaning tasks always feel so daunting.

February 22nd

Not that this is close at all, but I already want to start planning something for my 1,000th entry. I'm coming up on 800 pretty soon, and that got me thinking. I don't have enough readers to do a giveaway or anything like that...that's for those fancy, popular blogs. So if any of you have suggestions, please tell me, or comment, or...something. Telepathically message me. Whatever floats your boat.

I'm getting a manicure right before I got to NYC. I've only had two other manicures in my life, and I find them to be super relaxing, so I'm really excited. I'm really big into have smooth, moist hands and pretty nails, so it ought to be nice. And the person I'm going to is American, so I can actually converse with him instead of listening to little Vietnamese ladies chatting - not that there's anything wrong with that, of course, but you all know me. I like to talk.

February 21st

I've just eaten ice cream and had Dr Pepper. I feel like a bloated whale. I did finally get to go grocery shopping tonight though, which is a plus. I bought...Monster trail mix. Oh god. I really am a bloated whale.

The problem with flirting with nice people is that it's remarkably hard to tell if they're flirting back or just being kind because it's their nature. How very frustrating.

February 20th

My toenails are purple and glittery. I thought you might want to know that.

You know when you plan to do a lot of stuff in a day, and then it just gets to be too much and you don't do any of it? That's my day today. It seems so late already but it's still quite early. But not early enough for like a nap or something. First world problems.

I've also just remembered that I was supposed to do some work for my theatre class which I completely forgot about until just now. So I'm going to do that.

February 19th

People who are so absolutely certain that there is no god are just as annoying as those who believe that there definitely is a god. I think it's very arrogant to think that you are so knowledgeable about the universe that you can say for sure whether or not there is a deity. If you have faith in a god, that's fine, but you should always be willing to admit the fact that your belief is based solely on faith, not facts. On the flip side, theoretically, some god could make him/itself known to mankind. So atheists also have to accept that there is a chance that there could be some sort of deity. I personally think that there are a lot of flaws with theism (for example, if God created the universe, which is billions of miles wide, why is Earth, a microscopic speck among planets and stars, the only place with humans (according to the Bible)?) There are plenty of other things I could go into, but that's for another time. I am, like I think everyone should be, in a constant process of learning about what I do and don't believe. People who just believe something but never bother to learn more or expand their views and are just static about their beliefs frustrate me.

Anyway, that's my blurb on religion for tonight. My eyes are unbearably dry and I want to go to bed.

Today I had my first haircut in six months. Can you believe that? Six months since I sheared off my lovely locks. So my hair was growing really weirdly because instead of being layered like normal people's hair, it was all the same length, and I was kind of starting to get a mullet, and it was just bad overall. Now I have this delightful little pixie cut and it's very exciting. Short hair is fun, you guys.

Did you all have a good Wednesday? Wednesdays are always very long days for me because I'm quite busy, but nothing particularly exciting ever happens.

My eyes are so dry right now. They have been this whole week. I've not been sleeping in my contacts or anything that might aggravate them, so I don't know what the problem is. But it's frustrating.

Happy Valentines Day! I'm watching America's Supernanny with Kelsey, Sarah, and Allison. Oh, reality TV. Speaking of which, The Amazing Race starts this Sunday! I'm so beyond excited. Plus I'm getting my hair cut this weekend. Finally. My hair is so unruly.

Everyone needs to calm down about Valentine's Day. I don't care if you're single (and ohhh so forever alone) or in a relationship (an omgggg you have the sweetest boyfriend evarrrr~), it's just not a big deal. The average person spends $154.00 on Valentine's Day. You know what else you could do with that money? There are plenty of things better than flowers and chocolates, let me tell you.

I really need to conjure up the motivation to organize my room. It doesn't look too messy right now, but it's really disorganized. Also, I have to get up early tomorrow to table for SSA and Darwin Week. I don't have time for this cleaning nonsense.

This weekend has been massively unproductive. I ordered the first four books in the Game of Thrones series last week since I feel so much in love with the TV show, but my order hasn't come yet, so I didn't even get to make a dent in that reading this weekend (the books are ridiculously long). So, I think I'm just going to go to sleep, since I have nothing better to do.

I slept all day today. I was up until some ungodly hour last night, and then I just crashed. Now I feel all gross and I'm wearing my glasses because my eyes are dry and the lotion on my hands feels oily and I'm hungry but nothing is open. First world problems, I know, but ugh. I am in a bad mood.

Okay...Game of Thrones is my new obsession. I am in love. Episode six just had the perfect ending and I was literally cheering because it's something I've wanted to happen from the beginning. ...I probably shouldn't cheer for death, but my god, this character needed a good ol' murdering.

February 7th

Well guys...one month until I go to my favorite city in the world, New York City. One month and two days until I see Alan Rickman live.

I've started watching Game of Thrones, speaking of amazing things. It is a great show thus far, and if you get the chance, please watch it. I had to watch the first episode twice because there are quite a few characters and the plot is kind of complex, but now that I get it, I find it immensely enjoyably. Khal Drogo is so hardcore!

February 6th

I have to just kick ass at everything this week. I have like two or three tests and I need to get A's on all of them...because then I'll get to go to New York! If seeing Alan Rickman isn't motivation to do well, I don't know what is.

Right, so I have to take one of said quizzes now. It's online though, so that's nice. Wish me luck!

February 5th

I'm a little behind on my New Year Revolution missions. I just caught up with one that I missed, which was to make a bet with a friend, which I thought would be a good one to put into place on Super Bowl Sunday. And hey, I won! Go Giants! I also have to do one where you say yes to everything, which I skipped yesterday because I didn't really see anyone and I wanted to do it on a day where I could actually participate.

I finished the main storyline of Pokémon Black today. I have, of course, already played through White so I knew what to expect, but it's such an interesting and compelling story. It's different from the typical "bad guys versus you, the hero" story, which is essentially what all the other games are, although the fourth generation did start to deviate from it. Of course in this game there are still the "bad" guys, but their ideals aren't the stereotypical money-hoarding, treasure-stealing, "Team Rocket-esque" ones. And the anti-hero is really deep and intricate for a video game character. Overall a lot of thought was put into this game (plus the music and graphics are beyond amazing) so playing through it again was really great.

February 4th

Today has been a nice relaxing day, comprised of mostly Pokémon. I have been overwhelmingly successful in catching legendaries, so I can only hope this lucky streak continues. fingers crossed, knock on wood, and so on!

February 3rd

It's the weekend. I'm so glad! I had a late night last night, and all I want to do is go to bed early...after playing Pokémon Black, that is. Yes, I did buy the other version. It was on Amazon for only $20, and I do quite like some of the version-exclusives from Black...so I'm playing it through, too! Gen V has one of the best storylines, so I'm excited to relive that. Plus N's Castle has the best game music ever.

...Well, I've got to fight some bad guys now. Toodles!

February 1st

Ahh it's February! Hooray!

Today's NYR challenge was to say thank you to someone, and they suggested old teachers, so I sent emails to some wonderful English teachers I had back in high school. It felt really good to express my gratitude towards them, so this was definitely my favorite challenge so far. Tomorrow's is to give something away, which will be hard because here at school I really keep the bare minimum of things in my room, but I'll try to figure something out.

I keep sleeping wrong, and now my back and neck are all messed up. What's a girl to do?
