December 31st

Well, I did it. I blogged every single day this year! Sure, some days were only a sentence, but that's not what matters! I still wrote something, no matter how silly or short, every day in 2011!

Okay, you knew this was coming. The big end-of-the-year post. The one where I get all sappy and emotional like I'm accepting an Oscar or something. But seriously, some thanks are in order. If it weren't for the people who read this blog, I doubt I'd still be doing it. I have a small but extremely wonderful community of friends who support this blog, and I am so grateful to have them in my life.

2011 was one hell of a year, wasn't it? (Although if you followed the 2010 blog, you probably think 2011 was kind of tame.) But really, stuff did happen in 2011! I changed schools, for one. That was pretty insane. I bawled my eyes out over the end of the Harry Potter films, saw some amazing musicals and other movies, took some good classes and some bad classes, made friends, lost friends, reconnected with people I never ever imagined myself speaking with again...(haha!) I even watched all 82 episodes of the first season of Pokémon! (It's official! I did it tonight! I watched the last one!)

I am genuinely excited for 2012. There is a lot of potential for me to be successful at school if I apply myself. There are serious things to look forward too, as well as trivial ones. I can't count on my hands all the movies that I want to see, the books I want to read, the musicals I want to enjoy. Hopefully I will spend ample time with my wonderful friends, as well as make new ones!

I would like to take a moment to thank three people especially: Jon, Lexa, and Kady. These three have kept me so inspired to blog and helped me though some serious rough patches, and I can't express enough gratitude to them. So thank you, my friends!

One important technical note is that with the start of 2012, I will be changing the web address of this blog to 2011-and-beyond, as opposed to kate-2011. So if you have a link to this blog somewhere, please make the change if you wish to keep supporting this blog! And of course, this means I will be blogging daily in 2012 as well! I have no idea as to the longevity of this blog, or if I will ever switch from blogging daily to weekly or whenever I feel like it or something along those lines. Blogging daily has become such an integral part of my life, and I feel like if I ever went a day without it, it would feel very wrong. It is so ingrained in my mind that I have to allot time to blog. I plan around blogging time if I can help it, and those who hang out with me know that at 10:00 every night, an alarm goes off on my phone to remind me to blog if I haven't already done so.

Maintaining a daily blog has been really personally rewarding. It has shown me that if I am passionate about something, I can do it, despite the circumstances. Sure, there isn't a lot of recognition for blogging every day for two years, but it's something that I'm proud of. It may seem silly, but I love writing and blogging, so this experience has been really amazing thus far.

That said, I can't wait to tell you all about my life in 2012! Thanks again for all of your support, and I'll see you tomorrow!

Tonight, I'm going to freaking finish this season of Pokémon. I'm currently on episode 75 of 82. I can do this!

So it turns out the yoga pants I got yesterday had a hole in them...so I had to go replace them. What a pain. At least the store was really efficient about it.

I've just finished watching last year's Doctor Who Christmas special, which was amazing. That episode is the reason I started watching the show in the first place, so it holds a very special place in my heart! It's two hours now until this year's Christmas special airs, and I'm really excited.

I really need to find someone with whom I can watch Love Actually. Any takers?

Doctor Who Christmas special in like 12 hours! Woohoo! December 26th of last year is when I first discovered Doctor Who, so this is especially exciting.

I really want to watch Love Actually, as well, but I don't own it nor do I know anyone who does, and watching on my computer by myself seems extremely lame.

Well, off to the Christmas service. I'm always up for being terrified of lighting myself on fire while holding a candle precariously.

My blog hit 14,000 pageviews sometime in the last 24 hours, so first and foremost I wanted to thank you guys for that. I'll write a bigger thank you post on either the 30th or 31st, but I just wanted to take a second today to express my gratitude to all of you who come here!

In less happy news, there is no snow. It's not supposed to snow between now and Christmas, either. I don't think I've ever gone a year without a white Christmas, at least not in Minnesota. I suppose in Hawai'i there wasn't any snow, either. But that's different.

I'm actually not a huge fan of snow most of the time, like when it's -50°F and windy and you have to get up and go to class, but I do like it around Christmastime. So this is just wrong. This is Minnesota, often called Minnesnowta, and there is grass showing. Unacceptable.

I did my Christmas shopping tonight, hooray! And since I don't think I've ever been able to resist buying something in Victoria's Secret, I also got myself some smelly goodness...

Because I'm obviously very sexy hot. I just sprayed some on and I'm pretty sure I'm now sexually attracted to myself. Dear men: Please follow suit.

First world problems: Taking a nice, long shower and meticulously shaving your legs, then getting out and realizing you missed a tiny patch of hair on your knee.

I didn't even have a good reason for shaving my legs, I just wanted to - so I really shouldn't be as disappointed as I am in this small bit of hair.

But seriously, can my legs just stop growing hair altogether? Thanks.

Oh my god.
Les Misérables was absolutely beyond incredible. I don't even know how to describe it. Fantine had the most perfect voice, I loved Eponine, Marius was amazing, and I'm pretty sure Valjean was ike a mythical creature because there is no way a human sounds or acts like that.
I cried a bit at the end, just because it was so wonderful and beautiful. I really just love theatre.
Also Les Mis makes me feel all spiritual and religious and I find that to be really bizarre. It's just like...only some god-like being could bless the earth with this sort of creation. These people, this production. The orchestra, the set crew, everyone. It was just pure heaven.

I have been wearing my new sweater for like two days straight now. I ordered it on Cyber Monday, and since I also had a gift card from my sister, it ended up only costing $5 of my actual money. FIVE DOLLARS. From American Eagle!

Anyway, it's so snazzy and cozy and perfect. I don't think I understood true happiness before I owned this sweater.

I'm going to see Les Mis this weekend and I am BEYOND EXCITED. Aaaand I'm seeing The Lion King in January! Oh, how I've missed seeing musicals!

Also, finals. Those are happening. I had a really easy one today though, so all is well.

I would happily get on a plane right now and fly to New York City. I've always wanted to ice skate at the Rockefeller Plaza in the winter, plus it's Daniel Radcliffe's last month in How to Succeed plus Alan Rickman's show Seminar just started and I really want to see it. And him. Mostly him.

This week is lame, man. Finals are so not my thing.

Also ohmygod finals have got me so freaked out that I completely forgot that tonight was the season finale of The Amazing Race WHAT. So in a few hours it better be on the CBS website and then I can eat leftover Subway and watch it and cry and scream and ALL THE EMOTIONS.

Aaaand new Misfits aired! Not as exciting as TAR, but still freaking exciting and I can't wait to watch it, too.

Finally, in my downtime from studying, I have been attempting to beat Pokémon Pearl. I've beaten the games from all the other generations, and despite my dislike for Gen IV, I had to give it a go. I've technically beaten the Elite Four and gotten the National Dex so you could say that everything else I'm doing now is optional, but I'd really feel more closure if I caught all of the legendaries, too. /nerd

Today I bring you some religious musings. My friend asked about how one should teach their children about religion, and this is what my brain spat out.

"Most people under the age of 16 or so can’t really grasp the idea of faith and religion anyway. They go to church (or wherever) with their parents and don’t really question that there might be a different “answer,” even if exposed to other things. I was exposed to a lot of religions, but always just assumed mine was right because that’s how I was raised. A lot of it is fear, too, that makes people not branch out from their religion, whether that be fear of being disowned by their family for converting, fear of being harassed in society, or most of all, fear of going to Hell (or its equivalent). So for that last reason, your kid is probably going to believe what you do, because they don’t want to think a.) that they’re going to hell, b.) that you’re going to hell, or c.) there is no hell and that their mom is wrong. Fear is an immense part of religion, and really, why a lot of it exists. Fear of ceasing to exist after death, of losing conscious indefinitely, of what that might mean - it leads people to believe in heaven/paradise/etc. because they a.) want to believe that their good deeds are not in vain and b.) that they will continue to exist after death. Neither finitude or eternity are things that humans can wrap their minds around, so we opt for what we believe to be the better one."

I'm always really hungry Thanksgiving evening, unlike 99% of Americans, because I really don't eat that much, and Thanksgiving lunch/dinner is like the only meal you have all day. So I just had two bowls of cereal. Haters gonna hate.

Exciting news: I'm getting helix pierced tomorrow! That's just like, your ear cartilage, nothing fancy. I'm still pretty pumped about it, though. Yay, piercings. I like those.

And then I've got an acting class for my fine arts general, with this serious Russian man whose name is actually legitimately Vladimir. Holy CRAP, how cool is that?

There's a girl right outside my door having an intense phone conversation about a guy named Donald. I'm gonna be honest with you guys, I think Donald is a really stupid name.

I watched Kim Possible last night. Specifically, the movie "So The Drama." I had forgotten what an awesome show that was. Also I still know all the words to the theme song. I love that theme song.
That reminds me of how a few weeks ago, the Fairly Oddparents came on TV and I remembered a surprising amount of the theme song. Then I had a dream that Timmy finally got together with Trixie Tang. I think he died shortly after in a monster truck accident. I dream really bizarre things.

I've actually started rewatching episodes from a few of my childhood TV shows, and I have realized what an awesome character Helga from Hey Arnold is. Not only does she recite goddamn Shakespeare, but she is just really clever and hilarious and wonderful.

So, currently on my list of shows to watch: Rocket Power, As Told By Ginger, and The Wild Thornberrys. Also I want to try watching Avatar: The Last Airbender. ALSO, did I tell you guys that I watched some of My Little Pony: FiM? It was kind of amazing.

Last night was super fun. Can I continue to tell people I've won every single game of Scattergories I've ever played if I technically tied my friend for first last night? That was definitely some intense scoring we did...we triple checked on calculators and everything.

So Skyrim is a really beautiful game. Even at 3:00 AM when everything seems fuzzy and tired.

Speaking of tired, I am remarkably tired right now.

I have a package...in my old mailbox here. So I can't get it because it's illegal for the staff to get something out of another person's mailbox, even though it's MY MAIL WITH MY NAME ON IT AND I PAID FOR IT. And if my old roommate doesn't get the package for me, I'm totally screwed. Because I'm not gonna be out $70 because she's being a twat and the idiots who staff this building can't figure out where to put my effing package. Seriously, it has my correct room number on it. And the admins were like, oops, that's not right, better put it in the box to the ROOM SHE MOVED OUT OF SO SHE CAN'T GET IT BECAUSE WE'RE STUPID AND CAN'T FIGURE OUT ANYTHING.

I can't believe it's going to be one day off. How cool would it have been to have those events sync up?

Anyway, I'm kind of exhausted now. I took a little nap earlier, but I think I'll go to bed early too. I need to try and fix my sleep schedule before the school week starts.

Watching Hank Green play Portal 2. Watching some random German guy play it (in German)is very nearly as cool as watching Hank play it. "ICH BIN EIN KARTOFFEL."

I definitely paid off my "sleep debt" today. Holy crap. I think it really messed up my, like, life schedule though, because now I feel all sick and drowsy. I am not pleased.

On the plus side, I now have the movie 300 on my laptop.

On the down side, upon downloading iOS 5, all of my recent text messages got deleted. I am utterly distraught.

On the plus side, my Bejoined game got reset back to how it was a few days ago, so I get to try for a new high score again.

Down side: This freaking "News Stand" app that I can't get rid of.

I'm blogging from my new bedroom in my dad's house! It's all right, except for the lack of electrical outlets. Also my furniture looks absolutely rubbish with the closet doors, so that's a pity. There's not much wall space for decorations, so maybe I won't go all nautical. There's just not room.

Today, I was woken up by my RA coming into my room with a mysterious stranger...my new roommate. I got zero notification that this would be happening, so I was really pissed. I mean, my new roommate seems fine, but it's really unfair to be to just be like, "You have no time to prepare or get the room ready, surprise, here's a roommate!" So that's a bunch of crap.

On the bright side, I'm going home tomorrow! And I'm going to watch Titanic this weekend! So at least I have something to look forward to.

Last weekend in my dad's old house! What am I gonna do with myself? Oh, all the memories from that house! Which is funny, because he's only lived there for about five years, so it's not even my "childhood home," which my mom wants to sell soon...sigh. I'm really excited to see my dad's new house though!

Today has kind of just been a massive emotional roller coaster. I happen to have amazing friends though, without whom this day would have been terrible. So thanks to those lovely friends of mine - you know who you are.

I have a test tomorrow and I haven't been studying because I've got my mind on other things. I'm doing well in the class, so it's probably okay if I don't do super awesomely on the test, but I don't want to completely suck. There's just too much going on!

So, Doctor Who season finale...not my favorite. There was a lot of hype, and the episode was just okay. So I'm about bit disappointed, though glad some issues got resolved.

I saw Sherlock Holmes last night (the RDJ/Jude Law movie) and I rather enjoyed it! I still like the BBC's modern-day Sherlock show better, though. Oh, Benedict Cumberbatch. You make my heart flutter.

It's nearly October! How magnificent! My dad's just bought a new house and we're moving in this month, and I am absolutely thrilled. It's got a proper basement and everything! I even get to spend some time there alone while my dad is on a trip, so I can explore all the nooks and crannies without looking like a complete fool. I've never actually been inside the house because of college, so I can't wait to move in. I've seen pictures and they're lovely! Also, there's a disused chicken coop in the backyard! I'm going to hide treasure in there.

Sometimes strangers come up to me and compliment my hair. I have a little breakdown here of the strangers who have complimented my hair:

Guys, I went camping! Whoa! I have something like 35 mosquito bites, but other than that, I've cleaned up quite nicely! Taking a shower after two days in the woods is a wonderful feeling. Also taking a really long nap in a comfy bed. That's really nice.

I've just finished watching the latest Doctor Who episode, and it was absolutely amazing. The guest writer, Tom MacRae, did an unbelievably brilliant job at writing the characters and I'm in love with the episode. I very nearly cried too, which is quite impressive!

I was gonna write this thing in here about how I've been perceived since shaving my head, but I feel kinda meh right now and don't want to. But basically, you know when you get a normal haircut and everyone comments? Well, when you shave your head, nobody comments because they all think you have cancer and don't want to point out your lack of hair. It's quite weird. Also, life without head hair is VERY cold. Literally.

Sorry for the absolute shit post yesterday.

So today was the first day of class, but I only had one class. It's called "Intro to Parents and Children" and it fulfills some requirement, but I also think it will just be good information for the future. Tomorrow I have the rest of my classes, which are:
Intro to Ethnic Studies
Indians of the Americas
and Intro to Speech Pathology and Audiology.

All of my classes start with the letter I, I've just noticed.
My speech class is the first class I have to take for my major (Communication Sciences and Disorders) and it's from 5-8 PM every Tuesday. That's a three hour class. During dinnertime.


I read the required summer reading today in one sitting. Since I didn't know I was going here until about five days ago, I didn't know there was a required reading. But it was about a Native American boy, so I figured I'd need to have read it for at least two of my classes. But it was a very quick read; it only took about two hours and it was ~230 pages long. And really hilarious. It's called The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian, and I'd definitely recommend it. And like I said, it's a quick read, so you have no excuse not to read it!

I think I'm going to end my night with a Disney movie. Not sure which one yet, though.

This week has been beyond hectic. I found out where I'm going to school about two days ago, and I move in on the 20th, which is this Saturday. I'm really tired and stressed out at the moment, basically. I'm going to register for classes and get my dorm assignment tomorrow as well. (At least I can say with a good amount of confidence that no matter who my roommate is this year, she will be better than last year's intolerable, vacant-headed bitch of a roommate.) I'm also getting my hair cut tomorrow night, so that's all right. At Juut (my hair salon of choice), you always get a short massage beforehand, as well as cucumber water. So that will be nice and relaxing.

Anyway, I didn't get a chance to take a picture of my hair yet. I'm still trying to get used to it. I like it a lot but it's so much darker than I'm used to! Other people seem to like it though, and it's definitely growing on me. I don't know if I'm still allowed to say I'm a ginger though, because it's not really "natural" looking red anymore...it's like five colors in one. Like...red-purple-brown-black. (Okay, so four colors.)

My dad's taking me and my sister to church tomorrow morning. I haven't been to church in like six months, for a Christmas service. (Actually, I might have gone at Easter.) But we're going to the church I went to like four years ago. It's really big and ominous and mostly full of old people. So we'll see how that goes.

Sorry for the lame entry yesterday. I planned to write before I left the house, but ran out of time.

My hair is currently changing colors. Again. Yes, now it's going to be a dark cherry red. That way my roots won't show up so badly. Plus i bought this amazing John Freida foam that smells really good and went on really easily, so hopefully it colors well too! I'll have a picture up soon, I promise.

I also bought wax for my legs that I'm planning on using tomorrow. I have a pretty high pain tolerance for hair plucking though, so I ought to be fine...right?

I bought new nail polish today. I don't know if any of you are familiar with the On Stranger Tides collection from OPI, but I finally got to go to Ulta today and I got two colors. OPI is one of those brainds that's really worth the extra cost. It's really good. Also, I love the name they come up with. The ones I got today are "Skull and Glossbones" (light gray) and "Steady As She Rose"(rose, of course).

I got new jeans today, and a lovely shirt for under $8. Sales are a wondrous thing, I tell you. Also the shirt is bright orange.

July 25th

I'm having one of those days where I don't feel like blogging because I don't have much to say. I did have a marvelous walleye sandwich for dinner though, so that's got to count for something. I'm also craving a bagel like crazy right now. Food, glorious food.

July 24th

I went to the zoo with Brennie today! It was really fun, although we walked around outside a lot and it was quite warm. Also, the bald eagle was gone because of construction. I was not a happy camper. I saw the owl though, which is cool because owls are cool.
We also went to the Mall of America afterwards and saw the Winnie the Pooh movie! It was really adorable and funny, although I do wish John Fiedler was still around because the new voice of Piglet is meh. The other new voices were okay but  Piglet's bothered me. Also, I love John Fiedler. He is lovely in 12 Angry Men.

I just thought you all should know that I just typed "July 23th" as the title. What.

I'm listening to Avril Lavigne's first album, a.k.a. the soundtrack to my elementary school days. She was my first concert, too. Also I always played "My World" when I played Mario on my Gameboy Advance...I dunno why, it just pumped me up. Shut up.
So yeah, I still know most of the words.

I'm going to the zoo tomorrow with my beloved Brennie! And since I bought a new charger for my fancy camera, I can bring it and take pictures!
I hope the owl is out. I love owls.

July 22nd

I am bored and lonely. I am doing nothing tonight, and there's no one here, and I don't know what to do.

I did dye my hair earlier, though.

It turned out more red that I expected, considering it's the same stuff I've been using. Oh well, it'll fade in like a week.

July 21st

I need to go to Target and get more hair dye. Also I apparently need to get my hair cut, because the ends are sucky. I can tell my hair is growing semi-fast because I can see my roots, but it's not getting any longer. Probably from the bleach. Time for a trim!

I can't handle Harry Potter right now. Every time I see a gif of a sad scene, or a trailer, or hear the music I have to click away. My emotions are all messed up. Best movie ever. Or rather, most meaningful movie ever, perhaps.

July 15th - SPOILERS

SPOILERS

So, I saw Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2. This is going to be like a review/general thoughts/whatever comes to mind sort of thing.
But basically, it was the most amazing movie-going experience of my life. I went at 3 AM with Kady, so the people there were less hyped up because a.) there were fewer of them (thought still a lot) and b.) we were all tired at hell. Kady and I got there at like 1:15 so we could get good seats and there were about 20-30 people ahead of us in line. We were the second people in our specific theatre though, so we sat front and center!
I wore my Gryffindor scarf and I brought my wand from the Harry Potter theme park, so that was pretty freaking magical.
Anyway, there were like 20 previews beforehand so I just sat there all nervous waiting for it to start, and the second it start I don't think I blinked for the rest of the movie except to wipe away tears.
The film didn't start with the WB logo, which was weird because all of Tumblr and I were like "omg last time we're gonna see the wb logo ahhhh" but THEN it was the AMAZING PIECE OF MUSIC AND SNAPE AND EVERYTHING WAS BEAUTIFUL. I thought I was gonna cry right then and there. And then the logo showed up and the movie got all serious business.
So Gringotts was cool and stuff and I love Helena Bonham Carter and wow Emma Watson's boobs were all over the place. But they went to Hogwarts like 15 minutes in and that was groovy.
I wasn't overly thrilled about how Harry just showed up in the Great Hall with everyone there, but it ended up working out pretty well. Pansy Parkinson had that great line, so yay Pansy.
Also the whole not going to the Ravenclaw common room and Luna and the Grey Lady stuff was different, but I think it was necessary to change that because it helped progress the movie. Side note: THEY CHANGED SOMETHING FOR A GOOD REASON! DAVID YATES, FINALLY YOU'VE LEARNED!
On that note, I like how the Ron and Hermione kiss went down. Obviously changed because there were no kitchen house elves in the movies, so the way it was done was brilliant.
The Room of Requirements being on fire was also wonderful, and holy cow Goyle falling into the fire was like...intense. AND THEN THE FIRE WAS VOLDEMORT. That was cool.
And every time Voldemort was like, stay close Nagini, I was like OH SHIT we're getting close to the Snape scene.
So there was that bit. The second the boat house bit started happening I was freaking out. I'd heard all over the internet that the Snape scenes were good, so I had high hopes. And guess what? Everyone was right. Alan Rickman deserves every award ever. (Also, he pronounced "pensieve" funny, did anyone else catch that?)
So um, The Prince's Tale. I cried. Like, serious crying. When Snape found Lily's body and he like, collapsed against the wall? Oh my God. I lost it. AND THEY STAYED SO TRUE TO THE BOOKS, THANK YOU JESUS. PERFECTION. And the music, my God. And the "After all this time? Always." was SO GOOD.
I don't even know what went on after that or anything else in order because it was all so good.
Fred's death = SO SAD SO MANY TEARS.
And Lupin and Tonks adkasjfhskb SO SAD.
Also Greyback killed Lavender? That was depressing and random.
McGonagall is the biggest badass of my life and I love her and Maggie Smith was going to chemotherapy while she filmed all of this SO Dame Maggie Smith is also the biggest, bravest badass ever.
Neville was epic too, with his slow motion stuff.
I liked how the final Harry/Voldy battle played out; it was good theatrically. I do wish Harry had done the bit about offering Tom a chance for remorse, BUT you can't have everything.
Oh and that dead Voldemort fetus Horcrux thing? Brilliant. That scene was quite good, too. Michael Gambon has become Dumbledore for me!
So um, the present day stuff ended and the epilogue started and I STARTED CRYING SO MUCH. I was like oh my God, this is the last time, the end of the last movie, the end of my childhood. Then the credits started and I was literally holding back sobs. I didn't want to leave the theatre. I wanted to stay there and cry. But I left, and I was still crying, but I was so so so SOOO pleased. It was a wonderful experience and I think they did the book justice and everyone was brilliant.

July 14th

Next time I write in here, I will have seen Deathly Hallows part 2. What a weird feeling.
I'm seeing it at 3 AM because all the midnight showings sold out super quickly. That probably means I should take a nap at some point, though. I may stay up late, but 3-6 AM is not a typical awake time for me.
I gotta get my Gryffindor scarf from my mom's house at some point.
Also, driving at 3 AM? SCARY STUFF. I'm nervous, for real. Plus I'll be all adrenaline-y.
But I'll do it, for Harry.

Harry Potter tomorrow night! (Hopefully!) I'm going to go try and buy my ticket now, or something. I'm antsy and I want to leave the house. Also I look nice. Soooo I want to go do something. What shall I do? What's open at this time?

I have been having really bizarre dreams almost every night for the past month. They're all completely different from one another and they are all extremely strange. My subconscious is a mess. I really want to try and figure out how to lucid dream though...I'd probably just chill in the TARDIS or something.

July 10th

It is storming so intensely right now! There is lightning all over the place I hope the power doesn't go out. Pfft.

I'm listening to the soundtrack from The Little Mermaid, and basically Alan Menken and Howard Ashman are brilliant. The Little Mermaid is one of my favorite Disney soundtracks and scores, so really it's just lovely. You should acquire it. Mulan has the best score though, even though only like four songs from it are on the soundtrack. Seriously, the song "Short Hair" (that really badass one when she's cutting her hair, you know?) isn't on it. It's on YouTube though. Well, the whole score is. But "Short Hair" and "Gratitude" are my favorites that aren't on the soundtrack. Oh Jerry Goldsmith. You are a musical genius.

I can post my good news today! Okay, so I know it's almost exactly three years belated but I got my driver's license today. LOL. I finished Looking for Alaska today, it it was pretty good! It was the first book I've read by John Green, and after being a Nerdfighter for about a year I thought it was time. I'm really pleased with the book, even though my theory didn't end up being right. I thought there was going to be this big twist, but there wasn't. Oh, well.

It's my sister's half birthday today! And she starts driver's ed tomorrow. She's getting so old. :')

I just took a shower and put on lotion. Normal, right? Well for some reason, today my lotion has decided to become gooey and form clumps all over me, which feel disgusting and more form when I try to get them off. I am pissed the hell off.

I watched True Grit with my dad this evening. I'd seen it before and he hadn't. It was just as good as last time, if not better. It should win every award ever. Screw Black Swan.

June 21st - DH distress

I think Deathly Hallows part 2 might suck. Snape's death? Totally changed. Narcissa saving Harry? Not even there. And what is with Harry and Voldy jumping off a cliff together? These movies have gone downhill since David Yates started directing them and this film seems like it's gonna be crap.

June 20th - Hello

Hello my lovelies. Today I am feeling very blah about this blog. It has become a chore to write in it everyday, and I feel like I have nothing to say anymore. Is that really what my life is like, so boring that I never have anything to blog about anymore? I'm enjoying my summer, I really am, but I just don't feel like I have anything interesting to share - at least not anything that anyone would care to read. So I'm thinking there won't be a 2012 blog, most likely. I mean, maybe I'm just in a funk, but I just don't know that it's still going to be fun after this year. We'll see.

Despite my ongoing urge to watch Mulan, I'm actually about to watch Lilo & Stitch. I haven't seen it in ages, but I feel like I really liked it at some point. And hey, maybe if I'm not too tired afterwards, I'll watch Mulan as well.

June 18th- Halfway

How has June gone by so quickly? Each day itself just creeps along, but the month as a whole is just flying!

It would be a lot easier to do a daily Tumblr blog. I've been on Tumblr for about seven months now and have 3,704 posts. That's like 20 posts a day or so, right?

June 17th- Portal 2

I'm going over to a friend's house tonight to play Portal 2 and I am pumped. Portal and Portal 2 are some of the best video games ever. The graphics, the music, the storyline, everything - just brilliant. If you ever get the chance to play one or the other, do it. They are quite challenging, but totally worth the brain pain.

June 16th - New books!

I bought a few new books today. Summer reading, commence!
Right, so the books I bought are Coraline by Neil Gaiman, Looking for Alaska by John Green (DFTBA!), and Hummingbirds by Joshua Gaylord. I bought Looking for Alaska because I've been watching John and Hank's YouTube videos for ages now, and I decided I ought to finally start reading his books. The Neil Gaiman purchase was inspired by the episode of Doctor Who that he wrote, which I absolutely loved. 've also heard great things about the book. As for Hummingbirds, basically the cover caught my eye and I picked it up and read the back. It looks really interesting so I'm excited to read that as well.
Oh, and Neil Gaiman tweeted at me today SOOO there's that too. Party time.

June 14th - 2012

How perfect that the BBC has decided to not air a full season of Doctor Who in 2012. Waiting three month in the summer is hard enough, but since they're only going to air like seven episodes the entire year, that' going to be absolutely the worst. 2013 is the 50 year anniversary of the show though, so they better blow my mind. Otherwise I am going to protest.

June 13th - Yum

My mom bought me Gorilla Munch today. (It's a cereal.) I am extremely excited about this new development in my life.

My sleep schedule is beyond messed up at this point.

For the last half and hour, my mom and I have been watching POV roller coaster videos on YouTube and screaming. I have the coolest family.

June 12th - Tony Awards!

I'm currently watching the Tony Awards, and let me say that this is one of the best years I've ever seen. NPH is a brilliant host and his opening number was hilarious. I also loved the performance from The Book of Mormon and seeing Daniel Radcliffe sing and dance and talk with a really impeccable American accent. I also got really randomly emotional when Nikki M. James won...just like I got really teary when I listened to some of John Williams' music earlier. I am a hot mess! Anyway, I'm going to keep watching now! Robin Williams is on!

June 11th- Busy bee

I have been so busy these past few days! I've decided to relax tonight by watching Single Father. I was going to watch Doctor Who, but even I need a change of pace every once and awhile, you know? Anyway, Illumitux isn't working so I'm downloading the episode, and it's taking forever. My mom's house has crazy slow internet.

It's one month until my birthday! Birthdays are great. Or as I've recently heard them called, Uterus Liberation Days. Yikes.

I'm staying a my mom's for a while, so I get to spend time with my cats. This greatly pleases me, because they're both so cute and sweet and I've had the older one for over ten years now so we're basically BFFs.

June 5th - Still going

The pure, unadulterated love I have for A Good Man Goes to War is still going strong. I hope every single person who helped to create that episode wins every award ever.

Speaking of that, what the hell is up with the MTV movie awards? Like honestly, it's just a waste of time. And Robert Pattinson is like the least classy person ever.

I'm organizing aaalllll the documents on my computer this summer. It is a very tedious process, but it makes me feel better about myself. Also, naming documents with relevant titles instead of "asdaggq" is really helpful.

There are no words to describe today's Doctor Who episode other than beautiful. I hope that when the show ends for good someday, it leaves me feeling the same way this episode did. It was so brilliant and lovely and gorgeous and I'm a little obsessed. I'm actually about to watch it again to pick up for little implications and whatnot. Cheers.

June 3rd - It's a big, big, big day!

I just got done writing my first Hunger Games chapter-by-chapter review for work and I'm really pleased with it. It's so fun to be able to write about things you enjoy. Maybe I'll even give you guys a link when it's posted on the website. ;)

So, tomorrow I'll know who River Song is. That's kind of freaking me out. But I'm going to be watching the episode with my darling Kady, so if I get too freaked out I at least have someone's hand to hold. Hah.

It's hard to write a blog entry after cranking out a big piece of writing for work! I'm going to work on getting inspired for these entries so this summer isn't so boring to read about.

June 2nd - Meow meow meow

Jon, Lexa and I read the entirety of My Immortal last night. It turns out when I try to do received pronunciation English ("The Queen's English") I sound Australian. I can do a pretty decent Estuary accent though. And of course Transylvanian.

I'm so excited for tomorrow. Fridays are so nice and fun, and also they proceed Saturdays.

I have a new affinity for painting my nails.

June 1st - Hooray!

June means it's summer! Except I'm not sure I want summer to get all started and whatnot, since summer always seems to go by so quickly.

I have eaten about seven Fruit by the Foots in the past three days. They're only like 60 calories each and they're really filling and basically the best snack ever.

Also, why is it only Wednesday...I mean, I know I just said I didn't want summer to go by quickly, but maybe that can start on like...Sunday. Because Saturday is going to blow my mind.

May 31st - It's almost June!

This month sure flew right by me. I can't believe tomorrow is June. June means summer! I like summer!

Problem of the day: I own no nail polish remover.

I'm working on my first piece for the BSC Kids website right now. :) I love having something to write in my free time...I mean, I always like having something to write, I suppose. Writing and I should get married.

May 28th - Maybe no more titles

I think I may start titling my entries with just the date, since I never have any clever titles anymore.

So how about that new episode of Doctor Who from today? I'll be honest, I did a lot of swearing and hitting my desk. The last two minutes were me pounding my fist on my desk yelling "WHAT WHAT WHAT WHAT WHAT" over and over again.

May 27th - Gilly Hicks

...is my favorite store. The ambience is absolutely perfect, and it smells awesome, and there's so much underwear! I love underwear. They also have a new bra called Kate...so I bought one. I actually really like it.

I also enjoy H&M. A lot.

I got a Blizzard at Dairy Queen tonight for the first time in years. I ate about a third (it was a small) and I feel so beyond full right now. It was delicious though. (It was German Chocolate Brownie.)

May 26th - Nails

Having long nails confuses me. They get in my way.
